Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. As a person with Irish heritage, and surrounded as she was by gifted parents and family members was naturally gifted, it came as a natural. Maureen was born in this cosy refuge on the 17th of August 1920. She was raised by her parents as well as family members. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lililburn FitzSimons a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based business and owned a share in "The Shamrock Rovers," an eminent Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons The rest of the family rounded out this amazing family. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as an infant and was extremely proficient at them. Furthermore, she had a gift to act. This was apparent that she was the winner of each Feis in drama and theatre the Irish had to offer. At the age of 14 she enrolled in an organization called the Abbey Theater to follow her dream and study classical theatre and operatic vocals.
